En «Inception»[1], el equipo de Cobb penetra en la mente de Fischer a través de sueños compartidos para insertar la idea de “ser independiente” y así disolver la compañía monopolio heredada de su padre, todo tramado por Saito, dueño de la principal compañía rival. Esto es posible porque cuando despertamos no sabemos el origen del sueño pero creemos que somos los únicos creadores de lo que allí pasó y solemos creer en ellos, incluso luego nos ocurren “deja vu” o paramnesias, entonces creemos en los sueños y las ideas que se nos “ocurrieron” dentro del mismo.

Anoche estuve en el lanzamiento oficial del programa Start-Up Chile, conversé con algunos de los emprendedores y personas locales que están haciendo posible que suceda, y hoy desperté luego de un sueño donde ví la analogía entre el programa y el filme.

En pocas palabras, Start-Up Chile es un programa para atraer al país jóvenes talentos con una mente abierta, con muchas buenas ideas, deseosos de emprender para hacerlas realidad pero sobre todas las cosas sin miedo al fracaso, que para ellos es parte del proceso de ser diferente al resto, generar valor y cambiar el entorno que lo rodea. Todo esto con la idea de convertir a Chile en el hub de emprendimiento e innovación de America Latina.

Como en casi todas las cosas de la vida, siempre hay al menos dos caminos, el fácil y el otro. Emprender es el camino alternativo a ser el empleado de la empresa estable, con el horario fijo, con las políticas corporativas, con el jefe desgraciado, con los colegas desmotivados que pertenecen al club de fumadores que cada 1 hora bajan del 15 piso del elegante edificio y gastan 20 minutos mientras disfrutan de un café y dos o tres cigarros conversando de la última noticia de farándula (los momentos que más disfrutan del día, que coinciden con los momentos que no trabajan); Ese es el camino fácil.

Emprender es el otro camino, un camino lleno de trabas, miedos, tropiezos, estreses, y mucha gente estúpida; Pero que una vez que tomas no tienes vuelta atrás, no porque no puedas, sino porque no quieres volver, y no importa fracasar, en realidad aprendiste donde está la piedra para saltarla la próxima vez, ya no hay vuelta atrás, ya tienes el bichito dentro.Nada se compara al resultado de emprender, va más allá de ser tu propio jefe, tiene que ver con sentir que generas valor mientras evades a los estúpidos y te ries de sus mentes retorcidas anti-progresistas, tiene que ver con crear el lugar con el que soñaste que querias trabajar algún día y de esa forma hacer realidad los sueños y las expectativas de las personas que contratas, tiene que ver con trabajar con gente como tú, tiene que ver con divertirte haciendo lo que otros llaman trabajo, tiene que ver con hacer cosas diferente (innovación), tiene que ver con todo lo que no tiene que ver tomar el camino fácil.

Pero el 99.99%[2] de la juventud chilena prefiere tomar el camino fácil, porque está en su concepción de la vida, porque fue educado de esa forma, porque ¿por qué arriesgar si el resto no lo hace?.

Y aquí viene la analogía, porque eso es lo que el actual gobierno que por demás está lleno de emprendedores quiere cambiar, y es por eso que creó el programa (la idea) y el equipo (personal de apoyo y emprendedores) para en cuatro años (que increíble y obviamente coincide con los años de gobierno) meterse en los sueños de los jóvenes (el futuro de este país) e insertar sin que a penas lo noten la idea de  ”Ser un Emprendedor”, haciendo innovación, generando sinergía, generando nuevos, interesantes y desafiantes empleos, que obligará a crear mejores profesionales, que colocará moneda circulante en la calle, que cuando tengan hijos les darán mejor educación en casa, que muchas cosas más…y que en conclusión, sea otro grano de arena para emerger algún día como país desarrollado.

[2] Es metafórico, una forma de decir «la inmensa mayoría», no tengo idea de que % es o no emprendedor.

In “Inception” [1], Cobb’s team enters Fischer’s mind across shared dreams to insert the idea of “being independent” and thus dissolving the monopoly company inherited from his father. This entire plan was devised by Saito, owner of the leading rival company. This is possible because when we wake up, we do not know the source of the dream, but we believe we are the only creators of what happened there and we tend to believe them, including later when “deja vu” or paramnesias occurs to us, and then we believe in dreams and ideas that “happened” to us inside it.

Last night I was at the official launch of the program Start-Up Chile and had conversations with some of the entrepreneurs and local people who might be making it possible, and today I woke up after a dream where I saw the analogy between the program and the film.

In short, Chile Start-Up is a program to attract to the country young talent with an open mind, with many good ideas, eager to undertake it and make it a reality, but above all things, without fear of failure, which to them is part of the process of being different from the rest, generating value and changing the surrounding environment. All this with the idea to convert Chile into the hub of entrepreneurship and innovation in Latin America.

As with almost everything in life, there is always at least two ways, the easy and the other. To undertake a business is the alternative road to be the employee of stable business, with fixed wages, with corporate politics, with a nasty boss, with unmotivated colleagues who belong to the smoker’s club that spends 20 minutes of every hour descending from the 15th floor of the elegant building and enjoying coffee and two or three cigarettes talking of the latest celebrity news (the most enjoyable times of the day, which coincide with times that they do not work). That’s the easy way.

To undertake a business is the other way, a path full of obstacles, fears, setbacks, stress, and many stupid people; but once you take it you don’t turn back, not because you can’t, but because you don’t want to return, and to fail doesn’t matter; in reality, you learn where the stone is to skip over the next time; now there is no turning back, now you’ve got the bug inside you. Nothing compares to the result of starting up; it goes beyond being your own boss; it has to do with feeling that to generate value while evading the stupid and  laughing at their twisted anti-progressive minds; it has to do with creating the place you dreamed you wanted to work one day and thus make a reality the dreams and expectations of the people you hire; it has to with working with people like you; it has to do with having fun doing what others call work; it has to do with doing things differently (innovation); it has to do with all that is not about taking the easy way.

But 99.99% [2] of the Chilean youth prefer to take the easy road, because it is in their conception of life, because they were educated that way; because, why accept risks if  others don’t?

And here comes the analogy, because that is what the current government full of business owners wants to change, and that’s why the program was created (the idea) and the team (support personnel and business owners) in four years (that obviously and incredibly coincides with the years of government) puts in the dreams of the young (the future of this country) and inserts, without scarcely noticing, the idea of “To Be an Entrepreneur” making innovations, creating synergy, creating the new, interesting and challenging jobs that require creation of professionals that will put circulating money in the street, that when they give their children better education at home, that many more things… and in conclusion, is another grain of sand for emerging one day as a developed country.
